Counselling and my approach

Counselling is a 'talking therapy' that can enable personal growth, help to explore and address issues, identify ways in which these can be overcome, as well as support decision making in a respectful environment. Counselling and psychotherapy for individuals and relationship counselling for couples can be helpful and hugely rewarding at any stage in life, there doesn't need to be a crisis in order to seek support.

I provide face to face counselling and psychotherapy and online-video call counselling in a supportive environment which is professional, confidential and respectful of individual pace and needs. The therapy I offer is non-judgemental and non-directive; you decide whatever you want to discuss, process and explore.

My approach is open, honest and supportive, I work in a relational style enabling a therapeutic relationship which is caring and accepting; this I believe is fundamental to the counselling process. This is your time to move towards and explore anything you want to achieve or understand. My aim is to support and enable you to develop clarity, gain insight and direction, allowing for an increased sense of understanding of your thoughts and feelings when faced with feeling distressed, anxious, depressed, confused or unable to cope.

Counselling provides a safe space and opportunity to explore difficult emotions, which might be anger, envy, guilt, jealousy or shame.

The counselling experience can enable a sense of being in control of the decisions that you make in your life, an opportunity for self-development, providing you a valuable space to explore new coping strategies, make choices about change and develop a deeper awareness and better understanding of self, building on your own particular strengths and enabling an increased sense of overall well-being.
